WESTFIELD SENIORS SELECTED AS NATIONAL MERIT FINALIST AND COMMENDED STUDENT

Westfield senior Branham Culpepper has been named as 2017 National Merit Finalist. As a Finalist, Branham is part of an elite group of approximately one percent of more than 1.6 million high school students who took the PSAT during their junior year to qualify for this prestigious award. He was one of only three students in the entire Middle Georgia area selected as semi-finalists. Branham was selected as a national finalist based on PSAT scores, grades, SAT test scores, school recommendations, and a student essay. As a finalist, Branham now will be considered for a national scholarship.

Branham is a member of the varsity cross country team, Beta Club, and Debate Team, and has received numerous academic achievement honors and awards. He is a national AP Scholar with Distinction recipient and also an Eagle Scout. He is the son of Judge and Mrs. Bryant Culpepper.

Westfield senior Hayes Way has been selected as a 2017 National Merit Commended Student. Commended students place among the top five percent of more than 1.6 million students in the program. Hayes has been the recipient of numerous academic achievement honors and awards and is a national AP Scholar with Honor. He is a member of the varsity wrestling team and served as the student statistician for the varsity football team. He is an accomplished pianist and has played several times at Carnegie Hall. Hayes is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ramsey Way.
