Counseling and College Placement

The Middle and Upper School Guidance program serves students in grades 5-12.  Our goal is for each student to be admitted into colleges that both appeal to the student and that also fit his/her academic co-curricular and personal profile.

The guidance counselor assists students dealing with personal, peer or academic issues.  Westfield wants to ensure a supportive and positive experience within the academic environment.  Students are encouraged and guided through the process for college preparation.  The guidance counselor can be reached at or 478-987-0547 ex. 230.

Parents are encouraged to seek a conference by calling the Guidance Counselor whenever a counselor can be of assistance in answering questions concerning the child’s school performance, providing information, or fulfilling some needed service for the student or parent.  Parents should contact the teacher of record for subject specific conferences.

The Westfield School College Visit Policy

Selecting a college can be a difficult process.  Information received through printed literature and websites is helpful, but a college visit can assist the student in selecting the right one.  Each Westfield junior is given one college day, and each senior is given two college days.
