Endowment and Capital Giving

The Endowment Fund is money that has been donated to Westfield with the stipulation that the principal be permanently invested and a portion of the interest is expended for designated purposes approved by the Board of Trustees.

The Endowment Fund at Westfield goes hand in hand with The Campaign for The Westfield Schools, Phase II.  The money raised and pledged during The Campaign is going directly into the Westfield Endowment, reinforcing Westfield’s financial future, while the investment income generated is financing the bond debt used to construct the Arts & Science Building.  A gift to The Campaign is a “win-win” for Westfield because the gift “counts twice”.

Campaign for Westfield School, Phase II

...A Long Awaited Vision becomes a Reality

Westfield ended The Campaign for The Westfield School, Phase II with pledged contributions of over $1 million.  Thanks to the leadership of Campaign Chairman Mr. Tee Tolleson and The Board of Trustees we have increased the Endowment Fund and the newly constructed Arts & Sciences Building and Recital Hall was fully operational for the 2006-2007 school year.

The opening of the Arts & Sciences building reflects the School’s commitment to deepening the academic programs in science, foreign language and the fine arts.  New instructional spaces in the building allow us to expand course offerings in art and music, introduce Spanish into our lower and middle school curriculum and upgrade the teaching of chemistry, biology, and anatomy in state-of-the-art science laboratory classrooms.

Westfield’s new recital hall, with a seating capacity of 250 people, allows us to showcase musical and dramatic productions such as our Veteran’s Day program, our award winning One Act Play, Christmas concerts, class programs, student assemblies and various social events.

The future of Westfield is bright due to the vision of the Headmaster, Board of Trustees, and Westfield friends who share in that vision.  We thank the donors listed for their generosity to Phase Two with pledges to be paid in lump sum or over the five year period of The Campaign.
