Technology

Westfield is committed to the belief that technology instruction is an enhancement of the educational process.
We are committed to integrating technology, where appropriate, in each academic discipline, grade level, and course offering.

Technology serves as a resource through which students can discover, investigate, and solve problems. Students must be able to determine when to use technology, and then have the skills and resources to do so.

In addition to offering a wireless campus, Westfield includes two main computer labs and a STEM lab. One computer lab and the STEM lab are located adjacent to the cafeteria building for Middle and Upper School students. The Lower School lab is used for technology instruction in grades Pre-K through 5.

To further integrate technology into the classroom,  mobile carts with laptops and iPads are available for students and teachers.  We offer a 1:1 device program that includes school iPads for students in grades 6 through 11 and a 1:1 laptop program for students in grade 12.  Additionally, classrooms and science labs are equipped with interactive white boards and LCD projectors.

We constantly look for ways to integrate technology throughout our campus and within our classrooms to enhance student learning.

Our student information database, MyWestfield powered by RenWeb, gives our students an electronic identity campus wide along with student/parent global access to track academic progress and attendance. All of these services are secured using state-of-the-art firewalls and comprehensive internet security programs to keep student data private and confidential.

The Westfield School will continue to enhance all areas of school operations including administration, business, academics, athletics, and student life with current technologies and practices.
