Frequently Asked Questions

Is there an admissions test?
Yes. For Grades 1-5, the Admissions Test lasts approximately 45 minutes. For Students in Grade 6-12, the Admission Test lasts approximately 90 minutes. Testing includes: Graded Word List-Oral assessment of word recognition and pronunciation used in determining reading grade level; Reading & Reading Comprehension-An assessment of oral reading skills as well as silent reading skills and ability to answer fact based and inference questions from reading; and Assessment of Reasoning Ability- An assessment of organizational, categorizing, and sequencing skills. Students in grades 6-12 are required to write a brief essay. Content-based assessment is given as needed. Students applying for Pre Kindergarten and Kindergarten are given a "Play Day" Admissions Evaluation to ensure academic and social school readiness.
How long after admission testing will I be informed of the admissions decision?
In most cases, the applicant will be notified within 5-10 days of the date of testing. However, the decision may be delayed if all necessary documents (including school transcripts and teacher recommendations) are not received. The Director of Admissions will notify the applicant if any documents have not been received.
When will I be able to register my student?
Applicants who have been offered admission may register at any time during the year for the following school year if space is available in the grade in which the applicant is entering. Registration for current families begins in January of the year of enrollment.
What kind of payment options do I have?
There are three options: Payment in full at time of enrollment; semi-annual payment- 50% at time of enrollment and 50% in August; or monthly payments made in twelve equal installments to allow the full balance to be paid by last day of February of school year for which registered. The tuition year begins March 1 and ends the last day of February.
Is financial aid available?
The Westfield School offers a Financial Aid Program which provides need based financial assistance. The program is intended to assist those families who desire a Westfield education but might have difficulty with tuition costs. Westfield is also a participant in the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program which provides tuition assistance on a needs basis to students who are enrolling in Pre-K, Kindergarten, or First Grade, or who are transferring from a Georgia public school.
Is Westfield Accredited?
Yes, we are fully accredited by COGNIA (SACS-SAIS - Southern Association of Colleges & Schools). We are the only fully accredited independent school in Houston County.
What percent of students go on to college?
100 percent
Does Westfield offer AP and Dual Enrollment Cources?
Yes, Westfield offers both Advanced Placement (AP) courses and Dual Enrollments through Middle Georgia State University and Georgia Military College.  The dual enrollment courses are taught at Westfield.
Does Westfield provide transportation services?
The Westfield School provides transportation to and from school via pre-determined routes to several surrounding communities. The routes include Warner Robins, Hawkinsville, and Reynolds-Fort Valley-Byron. Information regarding the bus transportation fee and routes is available from the Business Office.
Does Westfield provide After School Care?
The Westfield School provides an After School Program for students in grades Pre K – 5th and an AfterSchool "Hangout" for students in grades 6th - 9th. It is available on school days until 6 p.m. Information regarding registration and fees is available from the Business Office.
